Tackling the Tie-Ons: Feb 2006 Lake of the Woods Area
It was up to Ruth and I to do this job. Our first day, we were a little frustrated as it took more than half the day to figure out where the lines were that we needed to tie-on to. It took a lot of extra time, but over the course of the next 5 days we managed to find almost every tie-on. This happened to be right in the middle of a cold-snap. Our first day out we met a local trapper on the road who was heading into town to avoid the cold. Every morning started between -25 and -33 degrees Celsius. During the day it usually warmed up to -15 to -25 Celsius.
One day it remained cold all day, plus there was a windchill making it feel like -45 Celsius.

We ate most of our suppers at Larson's Camp just south of Nestor Falls.
Bjorn joined us the last day.
