Fully guided hikes in the boreal forest. We will be hiking in the wilderness where there are no trails. During winter snowshoes are included. Guests will learn about the local area and enjoy the beautiful scenery. For the full-day option a campfire lunch is provided (must specify any allergies prior to the trip). For the half-day option a light snack is provided.

CCW Multi-Day Adventure Excursions
Canadian Wilderness Walkabouts All-Inclusive Excursions offer a multi-day adventure package where guests can explore the wilderness and culture of the local area. Guests can relax in the evening in the beautiful Whiskeyjack Lake loghome accommodations and enjoy freshly prepared home-cooked meals. Each day we will take guided hikes along frozen waterways and scenic overlooks depending on guests' skill level and interests. The Dawson Trail entrance to Quetico Provincial Park, is nearby with the beautiful Whiskey Jack Trail that winds along Pickerel River. Time permitting guests may tour the local Souris River Canoe Factory (Kevlar canoes), Fletcher Canoe Workshop (wood canvas canoes) and the XY Company's store (hand-crafted paddles). Families will experience the outdoors and connect through fun-filled activities. (Children must be under the age of 18 for the family rate). We will spend time hiking in the boreal forest learning about the local environment and history of the indigenous people, Voyageurs and explorers in the area. Kids can try out the sliding hill, do a navigation scavenger hunt, visit the Arabian horses and build their own quinzhee! Women-only tours for females looking for an experience full of adventure and fun-filled memories built together. We will explore the wilderness and culture of the local area. CWW is in the beautiful area adjacent to the world-renown Quetico Provincial Park and close to the small town of Atikokan, the canoeing capital of Canada. Learn how to navigate through the boreal wilderness where there are no trails using a map and compass. The Explorer Experience is a longer adventure excursion for guests who want to experience the full spectrum of what Northwestern Ontario lifestyle has to offer. Guests will be picked up from the Thunder Bay International Airport. We will spend a day exploring the amazing City of Thunder Bay, where we will overnight. After a visit to Kakabeka Falls (the Niagara of the North), we will continue to the home base of CWW. Each day we will explore a unique aspect of the wilderness and culture of the local area, including hiking in Quetico Provincial Park, dog-sledding with Borealis Sled Dog Adventures, learning about the historical prospecting of the area and visiting some historical mines, a visit to the local town of Atikokan touring the local canoe and paddle-making shops, an overnight in a prospector tent at a walk-in location, cross-country skiing on Beaten Path Nordic Trails System (guests must specify boot size ahead of time) and traverses in the local area along frozen waterways and to scenic overlooks of Iron Valley. Snowmobile Tours Guided snowmobile tours available in the scenic boreal forest using lake and creek systems, old logging roads, and new logging cuts for an experience off the beaten path. Must bring your own snowmobile. Rates correspond to the regular excursions' rates. Shorter day tours available.
Cross-Country Skiing Cross-country skiers can explore the amazing Beaten Path Trail System in the Atikokan area or go off-trail in the Whiskeyjack Lake area. A trail pass will be provided for you when using the Beaten Path Trail System. Rentals are included; however, you will need to stop in Thunder Bay to pick up your skis, poles and boots during rental hours. Rates correspond to regular tours.
